No, cats get these things on their nose when their owners say “it is what it is” too much. It’s the weirdest thing.

I used to tease my SO for saying “it is what it is.” I’d look back at her and ask “what is it?” and she’d say “what it is.” And I’d nod and carry on. Eventually she stopped saying it.
Thought-terminating cliche. I just wanted to write those 3 words because I’m so proud it’s one of very few facts I have in my brain & is easily retrievable without any research or strain.
We know a few people that use this pithy phrase. I completely agree that the saying is sort of a cop-out. Accepting the situation (presumably), whatever it is, without seeking a better or more palatable solution. It isn’t always a serious issue, but certainly don’t capitulate if it is.
