I tried watching one anime to see if I was wrong. Watched high school of the dead, was met with crazy bouncing boobs between a sniper rifle shot. Regretted my decision immediately. All of it screams pedophilia to me.
Would probably help if ya watched some Seinen which is generally of a higher quality. May I suggest Hellsing Ultimate and Black Lagoon? Just be ready for some proper ultra violence, also pretty sure all the characters are of age.
Yeah that’s a rough one to get into, it’s good don’t get me wrong but fuck. But you are kinda on the right track, just approach anime like you would different art mediums with similar properties, anime is to western animation what bronze working is to stone working. Best suggestions I can give is like I said Hellsing and Black Lagoon but I’d also add Ghost in the Shell (1990s version), Netflix Castlevania, and fuck it I’ll toss in Star Wars Visions since it is anime. Really stay away from Shonen unless it’s basically Jojo or Attack on Titan since they are just kinda doing their own things and don’t follow the tropes all that much.
Edit: Also Fullmetal Alchemist brotherhood worth a watch by itself.
Bruh if you see that scene as porn rather than absurdist humor and satire, you might have some weird repressed kinks. Which, not saying that’s a bad thing necessarily, just that you might wanna look at things through a different lens
There’s been great stuff since the 80s. Even some of the stuff that became popular outside of the typical anime fandoms, you have things like Cowboy Bebop, which oozes style, and the 2 FMA series that have solid storytelling and complex characters with great music and animation.
