A bit of internet history for the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

This is one of the very first memes/jokes about September 11th to become popular online. Often called “9/11 what if they’d missed” or “9/11 the happy ending.”

There’s another version of it in which the towers bend multiple directions as other planes attempt to fly into them but it seems to be lost media, aka the Matrix bullet dodging trope.

I actually had to go hunting for it and came across this version which is the original. Someone had saved it on youtube and I’ve converted it to gif for posterities sake.

The original was probably in Flash which is why it’s so difficult to find these days.
