Well yeah, a band like Frodus was really easy for me to fall in love with, but I didn’t really get into a band like Slint until later in life.

Kings X is practically part of my heritage, and I was literally raised on their Beatlesque proggy metal and raised kind of surrounded by prog and hair metal bands (not at the same time).
Sunny Day Real Estate just hit me at the right time in my growing up that it became another major part of my musical identity. That’s what I mean by post hardcore, because the term emo means something meaningfully different than it did when I discovered them, but I called it emo forever until the ones with eyeliner started showing up.
