I think I have close to 100 discs, I really should get rid of them, they take up so much space.
just digitize them and sell off to collectors.
Were they really that big? If so, no wonder they never really caught on
they caught on - it’s just the technology moved on towards compact discs eventually and then to DVD and Blu-Ray.
Right, I meant they didn’t catch on in this format. As evidenced by the fact that all through the 90s we had VHS and not giant dvds 😊
Saying these caught on is like saying the jaguar was a success because the playstation later used CDs. Its true in the very broadest terms, but the specific technology was never a hit.
it did its job and paved the way for future formats. some still consider it to be the definitive disc format
Laserdisc is something most people have heard of but never seen.
