I just popped in to say IMAGINE being a fan of a publicly traded company. They’d stomp your balls and punch your tits for an extra dime if they could. Any company with more than one shareholder is not your fucking friend.
Your dads construction company? Fine.
Anything that has more than one shareholder? Probably would kill you and cover it up if it cost less than it gained them.
Small businesses are often worse, since there’s less oversight, more willingness to gamble on ‘risks’, a need for higher margins to stay afloat and generally fewer different interests at stake. The issue is private ownership in itself, not how that private ownership is structured.
