Is there a name for the sensation of currently forgetting something you just had in mind?

This is me working late. Checklists become my only hope. That and breaking down the tasks into absurdly smaller tasks.

I have occasional celebrity name blindness, or whatever.

Some days I can name every celebrity I see in a picture, and other days I can’t pull up a single one. I recognize the woman in the picture, but I can’t recall her name at the moment, but maybe I will be able to tomorrow.

A while back, someone posted a picture of the Rolling Stones, and I knew every name, but Mick Jagger’s.

Robert De Niro, Al Pachino, Christopher Walken, Matthew McConaughey are all names I’ve “misplaced” recently. At the same time, I can get Woody Harrelson, though--when I was commenting about Brothers.

This isn’t new, I’ve had this weird affliction my whole life, I think.

Not necessarily. If they’re moving around, it could be the Doorway Effect. An actual psychological phenomenon where we tend to forget things when we go through a door, or some other transition to a different location/environment.

Basically a trick our brain uses for more efficient memory back-firing on us.
