I hate to say it but its the sole reason I keep giving Nintendo a pass.
When I buy my daughter a AAA Nintendo title its a FULL GAME and its damn well polished. I get exactly what I paid (too much) for.
In most cases, yes.
But then you get a Mario Strikers Battle League, or a Pokemon Scarlet/Violet once in a while.

Not always. A lot of their games are moving to models with DLC. The last two generations of Pokemon aren’t bad games overall with their DLC, but without the DLC the games have been lackluster. Same for the last Legends game where it genuinely feels like the DLC was originally meant to be a part of the base game and it was cut to be repackaged and resold for more.
Nothing strange about this.
I see no incoherence, the value their work and their work is good.
