My wife has the same size neck as our dog, and one time we were out and decided to stop and get the dog a new collar so we tried them on her to see if they would fit the dog. Do you think they could clock that we were only trying them on to check the fit for the dog?

Keep an eye on the hamster to see if they enjoy scheming. If they look nervous or regretful I’d say let them sit it out. However if they seem gleeful or you see them rubbing their little hands together then they’re probably good to continue scheming.
