“As part of these events, the airline had also planned an aircraft flyover, a meaningful gesture to honor the memory of those lost within the pilot community, but will suspend those plans due to concerns in the community and instead carry on with the other events of the day,” spokesperson Russell Carlton said in an email.
Before the cancellation, the City of Denver was warning emergency dispatchers, first responders and the public not to panic at the sight of the planned commemoration.

This 2 jets are escorting the plane, but stay with me now, some radical on the planes highjack the plane. Now it’s flying towards ground zero… Are the fighters gonna blow it up and the folks on board?
Ya that would be fucking amazing to see on such a tragic day. Fucking dumb.
And I know maybe I’m dumb and don’t get why they’re escorting it. But the bad guys who would do something aren’t gonna be coming in with their own jets to get into a dogfight. They’ll be regular looking dude with a pocket knife or a bomb strapped to his chest or some shit.
