Theyre smart to that already, most of the ad pumps I’ve run into have speakers hidden inside the housing that you can’t access anymore, and the “bottom left button on the screen mutes the ad” trick is disabled.

At this stage I just boycott those stations, leave a 2 star review on Google and deal with paying an extra 15c a gallon a couple blocks away.

Edit: Jesus Christ y’all are way too quick to jump straight to felony vandalism over fucking advertisements

Why not walk on some railroad tracks until you find a railroad spike lying around?

Then you could take that spike and stab the screen. 8 screens taken out, and the gas station can’t pump gas anymore. You’d think they get the message before they get to the 8th. If not? Oh well. Their loss.

Why not just build your own dirty nuke from parts you got on the dark web and use it to wipe the city block containing the offending gas station off the map completely?

EDIT: Sorry, got to this discussion a little late

Ads for gambling should be prohibited, just like those for tobacco and alcohol.

Are you saying ads for tobacco and alcohol are prohibited on gas pumps? Because ads for alcohol are all over every advertising medium in existence.

        Depends on where you are.

Where I am, alcohol, tobacco and gambling were all prohibited in advertisement, then gambling had a pass (because those making the laws are most likely in the pockets of gambling execs), but it looks like it will get prohibited again.

But without ads, our children and grandchildren will have no idea what to do when they have a structured settlement and they need cash now.

I get ya. One step at a time. I believe there’s value just saying these things out loud, getting it in the zeitgeist, helping people imagine the possibility.

An air can turned upside down will freeze and destroy a speaker cone while leaving zero evidence.

You must have a really small tank. Last time I filled up (less than a week) it was over 120€ (50 liters)

Fun fact, pass it on, etc! The 2nd button from the top on the right usually mutes the ads. It only hasn’t worked for me once.

      It’s during.

I have legit punched the screens, and pressed all the buttons so hard in, I’m suprised nothing broke.

When it’s obvious from the start you can just drive to a different station (for now), but when it sneaks up on me is when I get angry.

No because then you might realize what’s about to happen and go somewhere else. They wait until you start dispensing so you’re a captive audience, then they blast ads.

Chalk up another one for those gay, librul pansy ass effeminate electric cars…or something like that.

Let me be clear…obviously this is not an option for everyone…but a big schadenfreude filled fuck you to anyone who fell for the obvious propaganda about climate change and electric cars 10+ years ago (edit: *and still chooses to feel entitled to cheap gas). I hope it really hurts when you fill up your F-350s

My favourite thing about EVs is when you get a clown with a noisy car who thinks they’re fast and then you just pull away from a stop much faster than them with barely any noise.

I’m glad I was able to get an EV. Its great for my anxiety never having to wrangle busy gas stations, and the vast majority of my trips are short enough that the home charger is all I need.

Hey another reason I’m glad I don’t drive anymore.

We need more public transit, washability (*walkability), and protected bike lanes.

ETA: hah, great autocorrect, keeping it!
