As someone who used to be big into Twitter, knowing the person in the OP had a lot of kinda-creepy drama going on behind the scenes, this is quite an ironic tweet for them to make. He’s not as bad as Trump, for sure, but he’s definitely between Trump and the average person.

It was very e-drama.
He was part of the Weird Twitter community like pixellatedboat (onegianthand comics), dril, fart, leducviolet, mattytalks, Rob Delaney, utilitylimb, batkaren…
He had an alarmingly wide array of sock puppet accounts in which he’d pretend to be a woman to befriend younger (but legal age) women - some straight some gay - and be very sexual. He would also push for what many would call emotional cheating. He had a wife and kids irl. A lot of performative, shallow male-feminism with ulterior motives and was keen to jump on the band wagon of ostracizing other preditors/misogynists.
Made more disturbing by how he was constantly on twitter and in all the big community DM groups.

If you think about it, so many presidents were so much smarter than the average voter, at least Democratic presidents. Clinton was a Rhodes scholar. Obama was selected as an editor for the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year and president of it in his second year. Carter was a nuclear engineer in the 1950s when nuclear engineering was a brand new discipline. Most of them have to learn to seem like a regular guy, and not seem so smart. Meanwhile, Trump’s out there trying to look smart.
I just wonder how stupid you have to be to think that Trump is smart. Surely he has to be below the average intelligence of the nation. There must be a lot of MAGA Republicans who secretly know just how dumb he is.

Unfortunately, the people most likely to succeed in business and politics tend to either have a ruthless streak, no moral backbone, a lack of empathy, or more than one of the above.
So unless you’re a real asshole, you’re going to be disappointed most of the time…
