44 pounds = roughly 17.6 rotisserie chickens.
= 83.2 Big Macs
Big Mac uses 1/8 lb patties. I would wager they are closer to 1/3 or 3/8 of a pound
They are referred to a 10:1 patties, so 1/10 of a pound each.
When I worked there, in the late '90s and early '00s, they were 8:1. Damn they literally shrunk the patties.
They were 10:1 even in the 80’s.
Except the drug dealers. They use metric.
Smart choices like that is how they won the War on Drugs®.
That and having a popular product that no amount of violence will decrease the demand for, of course.
Don’t get me started on short forms. Lbs and oz?
lbs is from libra, the Latin word for “scale”. oz is from onza, the Spanish ounce.
pd and oc would make more sense in an English-speaking country. Here again, the metric system is easier to understand. (We won’t talk about Claude Emile Jean-Baptiste Litre.)
Right, though by nature of being an archaic system, it is susceptible to archaisms in terminology as well.
By extension, the UK should then change the iconography of the Pound Sterling (£) from a stylized L to a stylized P.
