    Swelling from intense sunburn?

Just wait until it “heals” and the dna damage will become apparent.

Some people have seemingly gotten shinier recently. I’m not sure how or why, but I feel like I’ve seen it more over the last year or so.

A lot of people don’t realize the image is heavily edited in the first place, so I’m gonna just start my comment by saying that, but the wet look you’re talking about is definitely a trend. You can look up “dewy makeup” sometime “glowy” is used but that’s often less extreme. Matte used to be super in, then people would be using matte highlights, then people went for more natural highlights (aka not painted on but where the product lets the light hit it and gives the effect that your skin looks somewhat wet). I’m not actually super into makeup so someone more knowledgeable can definitely correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s my overall understanding. You’re not just imagining things, that’s definitely been a more recent trend.

There is some kind of incentive structure to look this fucked up. There is a whole different world where looking like a parody of yourself is virtue signaling, shows that you can afford to look like such a cartoon. It’s the same reason maga face is a thing. Humans aren’t attracted to it physically, but you can tell they that they have enough money to do that to themselves and not have to feel embarrassed.
