It took me a couple tries but I got there. Some punctuation would have helped.

Oh man, today Lemmy learned that “living planes” and such is a thing. “Living Aircraft” has like 5500 tags on e621 dating back to 2009. Reddit used to have r/dragonsfuckingcars, too.

“Everyone who works in aviation wants to fuck these things” these things = the planes, “wants to fuck” = is overly emotionally attached to the plane. “every plane that crashes is a wife who dies” = the technicians will dearly mourn the “death” of the plane, and don’t want it to happen in the first place.
I think this is more appropriate in the brand new sentence community.
Less likely to die on a bus than a plane. Less likely to be injured on a plane than a bus.
